Course content |
Learning outcomes of the course unit The course focuses on key issues and topics related to elementary and communication education schools under the Framework Educational Program for Primary Education. He deals with basic theoretical concepts linguistic stylistics, represents the Czechoslovak tradition of stylistic view of language and its use in various communication spheres and situations, as well as systematizing the knowledge gained by students in previous subjects on the grammar of Czech, focusing on the variation of language resources according to the individual language plans. The subject is dominated by the interest in the system of stylistic means of contemporary Czech, but there is no emphasis on the practical stylistics (spoken / written speeches). 1. Stylistics as a science discipline (theory, systematics, practical stylistics, basic terminology; situation / communication sphere, adequacy / suitability, relevance. Coding vs. linguistic standards; classification of attitudes. Styling factors / slope factors). 2. Stylistic aspects of text construction (stylistic procedures and their modifications, stylistic forms, structure of the text and its principles construction: text units and their boundaries, horizontal / vertical staggered text; the specifics of text divisions of different genres and style ensembles). 3. Grammar of Text (Text Coherence: Expressions of Text Coherence and Significance Text Coherence Relationships; coreference and thematic sequences). 4. FEP ZV and ŠVP (Czech language and literature: communication and style education, partial outputs, curriculum and thematic areas for the 2nd Elementary School). 5. Talking versus writing (basics of spoken speech and non-verbal means, essentials of written expression, creative work with the text. Fundamentals of electronic communication; communication sphere: interactivity, monologue vs dialogue, speeches private vs public, symmetry vs. asymmetry; the sphere of school communication). 6. Problems of style work (methods of assignment and evaluation. Discussion about the teaching of style at elementary and secondary schools, state matrices. Examples of style works and their analysis). 7. Writing - inscription (Czech as a national language and perspectives of individual departments and semi-permanents). the position of speaking Czech. Criteria of adequacy, clarity and accuracy: their analysis and their view across traditional functional areas). 8. Communication and style teaching in primary school textbooks (summarizing the view of Czech language textbooks focusing on classroom instruction, educational portals and their content. Stylistics and its description in modern Czech grammars). 9. Communication and style teaching in practice (methods and procedures, characteristics of style exercises and their sense in the present time). 10. Variance of contemporary Czech language means (basic overview of style variation according to individual linguistic plans with a specific focus on vocabulary and its development; doublets and style value). 11. Functional styles and their models (standards, procedures and departments: a brief characteristic of functional styles, the meaning of this classification and its possible use in teaching. Stylistic systematics and its use in practice. Writing vs. Reading). 12. Functional styles and their models (standard, procedures and formats: simple style of communication, examples and possibilities of analysis). 13. Functional styles and their models (standard, procedures and departments: professional and administrative style, examples and possibilities analysis). 14. Functional styles and their models (norm, procedures and departments: functional style of publicism, examples and possibilities of analysis). 15. Functional styles and their models (norm, procedures and formations: rhetorical and artistic functional style, examples and possibilities analysis).

Learning outcomes |
After completing the course students should be able to: Understand the Czech language as a rich and variable set of heterogeneous resources (eg within stratification model) that can be used for various communication goals and in different communication situations; to further develop this variability and to use it in teaching the mother tongue. To characterize individual themes of style and communication education for elementary schools. Describe the variants of the contemporary Czech language, know the basic style and formations of each functional area and to prepare the corresponding practical examples according to the individual themes and styles communication education. Use knowledge of individual functional styles and their specific properties (and variability in relation to) the simultaneous influence of digital media and social networks on communication) for the practical teaching of communication skills (spoken and written) at elementary school.
