Learning outcomes
Introduction to Language Study 1 provides a comprehensive overview of fundamental issues related to the study of one's native language and consists of three interconnected parts: (1) it summarizes and systematizes knowledge focused on the Czech language at the secondary school level, (2) expands existing knowledge of specific issues related to language in a broader systemic context, focusing primarily on its spelling, and (3) supports skills that lead to the conscious use of linguistic knowledge in practice in teaching.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

Test Credit will be awarded in the form of a written test focusing on individual topics covered and discussed in lectures and, in particular, in seminars. The test will also focus on testing linguistic knowledge and skills at the high school graduation level. Some questions will test students' overview of the subject matter and verify their understanding of selected concepts. The test will also assess students' acquired skills, especially when it comes to working with specific language material. Oral examination The examination will be oral and will be based on the topics published in MS Teams at the beginning of the winter semester 2024/2025. Students will draw one topic at random, about which they should be able to speak independently for approximately 10 minutes. Students should be able to provide specific examples from language materials for each piece of knowledge, or they may be asked to demonstrate their knowledge using specific language materials provided by the examiner.
