In sequence with Selected topics in morphology 1, this lecture begins with a focus on the issue of verbs: their sentential functions, verb categories, and developments in verb morphology. This is followed by an introduction to non-flexible word classes (adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, particles, interjections). Concurrently, morphological system dynamics are demonstrated, along with literary standards and variability with a focus on the selection of suitable variants. Definitions are linked up with syntactical, word-forming, and stylistic aspects.
