Course content
|
Storytelling prose containing a child or adolescent hero, adventure literature, and historical and biographical prose. A partial goal concerns the explanation of the main characteristics of trivial literature and introduction of its representations in literature for children and youth.

Learning outcomes
|
This subject is a continuation of Literature for children and youth 1, and focuses mainly on Czech and world storytelling prose containing a child or adolescent hero, adventure literature, and historical and biographical prose. Students will learn the main characteristics of trivial literature, be introduced to archetypal representations in literature for children and youth, learn to differentiate valuable literature from substandard literature, and explore the theory and criticism of literature for children and youth, both its development and its current state.
