Course content
Course description and content: Basic facts about Czech stylistice, traditional and latest terms. System of functional styles. Spoken and written discourse with focus on communicative function of language. Means of expressions, mistakes in discourse stylisation. Principles of creating discourse. Development of stylistics.

Course objectives: To define traditional and latest stylistical concepts, To reproduce basics facts of Czech linguistics and its development, To define functional styles, To assess differencies between spoken and written discourse, To define means of expression of language levels, To analyse the most common stylistic inadequacies, To apply theoretical knowledge in creating own texts.
