After completing the course students should be able to: - define the historical and cultural significance of World War II and its milestones, - to explain the position of the Czech lands in this period, especially in the context of the existence of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, - to clarify the concept of the Holocaust and the status of the Jewish population during the Second World War, - illustrate their position and fate on the example of the protectorate population, especially artists of Jewish origin, - to identify important places associated with Jewish themes and to characterize their function (Auschwitz, Terezin, Jewish Museum in Prague, etc.) - Discuss the focus of the excursion in the current academic year and formulate your opinion on the choice of the specific goal of the excursion (choice definitely determined by student preference), - to name the significant places associated with Jewish culture in Prague and Olomouc, - to describe at least some important places connected with the life or temporary stay of famous personalities of Jewish origin in Prague, - to estimate the demands made by the preparation of the excursion to the organizer of the event - for example, when preparing a school excursion during the primary school, - summarize the benefits of excursion for your personal development, - summarize the lessons learned during an excursion and write an essay expressing their personal relationship to the city and assessing the course of the excursion.
