Course content
The subject is based on general didactic and pedagogical disciplines and is focused on the use of activation methods and forms of work in the teaching of Czech language and literature. Topics: theories of education in the historical context and their comparison with the focus on language teaching, construction, content and objectives of the RVP ZV, constructivist model of education, phases and methods of critical thinking, language exercises, their classification and purpose, possibilities of integration of educational disciplines and cross-cutting themes of the secondary school, development of divergent and convergent thinking of pupils at elementary school, cooperative learning, project method and possibilities of its application, methodical materials for teaching the Czech language and their use in teaching.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course students should be able: - to orientate in the construction, content and objectives of the framework educational program for the basic education with a focus on elementary school, - to enumerate, characterize and compare contemporary theories in education with a focus on Czech language, - to characterize the constructivist model of education, - to know and apply selected methods of critical thinking in the teaching of the Czech language in all phases of teaching process, - to know the system of language exercises and to use them in the teaching of the Czech language, - to explain the concept of integration and to integrate the components of the Czech language and literature educational field, - to integrate selected educational areas and cross-cutting themes in the teaching of the Czech language, - to explain the concepts of divergent and convergent thinking, synergy effect, - to explain the concept of cooperative learning and explaining its contribution to teaching, - to create and apply a medium-term project focused on the integration of selected educational and cross-cutting themes, - to orientate in the offer of methodical materials and to support the teaching of the Czech language and to use them.
