The discipline follows Methodology of Museum Education 1 and particularly focuses on the educational aspects of museum education. Museum collections in the context of this education are understood as bearers of cultural values, both the concept museality and its contents are addressed, as well as the influence of the specialization of a museum on the form of museum educational activities of the institution. An important issue is also educational strategies of museums, an analysis of training needs of various target groups of museum education and the personality of museum educators as well as the core competencies required for the performance of this profession. Within the scope of the course, individual educational components are thoroughly explained both in theory and in practical examples from practice, in order that students be capable of comprehensive pedagogical thinking and acting (within the meaning of the theory of LS Shulman).
