Learning outcomes
The course is focused on the development of students' critical thinking. The aim is to familiarize students with the problems of logical entailment and the probabilistic reasoning. The most common mistakes in reasoning will be presented, namely mistakes consisting in a misunderstanding of the - causal relationship, the difference between a necessary and sufficient condition, statistical methods, etc. Last but not least, the classification of fallacies in argumentation will be introduced with many practical examples
