Course content
Students will learn the basic theoretical background of education in the context of citizenship education. They gain competence in theoretical basis of special didactics (theory of education). The concept of pedagogical content knowledge.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Attendace - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 24 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 41 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 15 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to: "To understand the basic theoretical background that shaped the character of education for citizenship after 1989, "To understand the specifics and the role of citizenship education in primary and secondary education, "Analyze the importance of goals, objectives and future direction of education for citizenship, "Meet and current research issues for citizenship education at Czech schools "Know and understand the functional representation of citizenship education in the curricula of primary and secondary schools.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Seminar Work

To obtain their credits students work on and defend a seminar work on an assigned topic.The examination is a written test with approx. 30-40 open and closed questions.
