|
Topics: Genesis of the creation of human rights documents in the Czech Republic and abroad. Examples of the most important human rights documents and governmental, international and non-governmental organizations dealing with them. Basic human rights (categorization). Charter of Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms of the Czech Republic. Variants of human rights protection. Children's rights and related international documents. Children's rights and school. Ways and examples of ethically and morally improper forms of human rights treatment. Analysis of the current situation in the Czech Republic and in the world in the thematic context.

| Learning outcomes |
|
The aim of the course is to characterize the basic theses of human rights in general context and in relation to generally valid moral norms. This model will be applied especially with regard to examples from contemporary life and from the specifics contained in the pedagogical profession. Students will be able to present their chosen topic at the seminar on the basis of self-study and seminar work, they will be able to rationally argue in favor of the chosen concept and realize its risks or negatives.
Eligibility: At the end of the course students should be able to: "to define basic human rights and to classify them according to categories and selected criteria, "to reproduce the basic principles of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms of the Czech Republic, "to shed light on the starting points for the development of individual human rights historical documents, "to be aware of the specifics of the rights of the child, to become familiar with the documents of the child's law governing and applying the acquired knowledge in the educational environment, "to characterize examples of ethically and morally inappropriate behavior in relation to the concept of human rights (discrimination, bullying). |

The prerequisite is the orientation of students in the literature and knowledge of basal terminology.

Student performance
Compulsory and active participation in seminars, elaboration of a seminar paper on a selected topic in the field of human rights issues with an emphasis on its ethical dimension (with citations and foreign publications) in the range of 4-8 pages and its subsequent presentation at the seminar, self-study and preparation. |
