Course content
|
Ethics as a discipline (subject, methodology, objectives, fundamental ethical discipline). Ethics and morality (the relationship and differences). Important personalities of ethical thinking and their concept of ethics: Sokrates, Platon, Aristoteles, T. Akvinský, T. Hobbes, J. Locke, J. J. Rousseau, J. Bentham, J. S. Mill, D. Hume, I. Kant, F. Nietzsche, S. Kierkegaard, M. Heidegger, J. P. Sartre.

Learning outcomes
|
In this course, students will be introduced to the historical interpretation of ethics and the main ethical categories. Emphasis will also be placed on linking knowledge with some other social science disciplines (especially philosophy) and the application of theoretical knowledge to practical situations associated with the profile field of study. After completing the course, students should be able to: "Define the basic ethical terms, "Explain the differences in the various concepts of ethical approaches, "Explain the principles of individual ethical concepts, "Enumerate and specify examples of ethical behavior, "Explain the nature of the personalities ethical opinions, "Enumerate ethical guidelines from the chronological point of view, "Apply ethical theory to specific contemporary examples of human behavior.
Application of theoretical postulates of ethical practice.

The underlying assumption is the orientation of students in literature and knowledge of basal terminology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Students, after consultation with the teacher, choose one personality or ethical theory, which in the form of essays processed to reflect current examples of ethical behavior in contemporary society. Discussion over his work and opinions of the author defense will be the basis for completion of the colloquium.
