Course content
Active contact with a technical sujbect ensuring work activities. Therefore, it is necessary for students to know the functioning of devices and machinery as well as principles of safe work and to master the basics of health and safety at work in general. The area of fire protection and work hygiene forms an integral part of the knowledge and ability to apply safety at work, not only in schools. The following is discussed in detail: - basic regulations of the Czech Republic for health and safety protection at schools, - general requirements for safety at work, - rules for first aid, - safety at work while using electrical appliance, - safety at work for electrical engineering. To receive a credit students have to pass a written test in regulations on health and safety protection at work. Seminars: HSW in schools, fire protection, safe work on machinery, electrical engineering, inspections and revisions.

Learning outcomes
The graduates of a study program are expected to come into active contact with technical objects in the conditions of a modern household (from a washing machine to a computer). It is therefore essential for them not only to know the function of individual appliances, but mainly to be aware of the safe operation principles relevant to them and to absorb the essentials of safety and health at work in general. The issue of fire prevention and occupational hygiene is an essential part of the knowledge and the ability to apply work safety, not only in the conditions of schools. Mainly the following topics will be analysed in more detail: basic Czech regulations for the area of OSHA in the education system, general requirements of occupational safety, rules of first aid at occurrence of an injury, occupational safety while working with an electrical appliance, safety regulations concerning electrical technologies. In order to obtain a credit, students must complete a written test of OSHA regulations.
The student will be capable to explain the basic concepts of occupational safety

To receive a credit students have to pass a written test in health and safety regulations.
