Course content
|
Relationship between informatics and information technology, definition of terminology: information system, information society, information education. Basic awareness of computer networks and hardware and software PC structure. Application of PC as a source of information for a social worker.

Learning outcomes
|
The course aims at providing enough information and practical skills for introducing information technologies. Relation of informatics and information technologies. Basic orientation in computer networks and the hardware and software of a PC.
On completion of the course, students should be able to: define basic terms used in IT and explain relations between them; be familiar with basic structure of computer networks, and with computer hardware and software.
