Course content
Structure: Subject of aesthetics, its importance. Art propaedeutics. Basic aesthetic terminology, types of aesthetics. Technical aesthetics, artistic and non-artistic relationships. Aesthetic and artistic issues in technology. Purpose and aesthetic function of objects. Industrial design - basic awareness. Industrial design in selected areas of human activity. Line, surface, shape, light, colour, symetry, asymetry, contrast. Structure, composition (basic systems). Surface, structure. Methods of processing, purposeful aesthetic treatment. Traditional popular technologies and materials. Milestones in the development of material culture, production processes and crafts.

  • Attendace - 8 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim is to gain practical skills during individual work with selected materials. Work with textile and paper, methodology of teaching. Safety of work and health protection.
The student will be eligible to practical skills with selected materials
Prerequisites
For students then implement manual and mechanical cutting wood, plastics and other materials.

Seminar project - product with drawings, design and production.
