Course content
Topics covered: 1. Folk traditions and folk art. 2. Traditional folk materials and technology. 3. Folk toy and its contemporary application in pre-school activities. 4. Hand and pre-weaving techniques of fibre processing. 5. "Vizovice" dough 6. Customary verbal objects and regional traditions. 7. Easter traditions. 8. Christmas traditions. 9. Aesthetic and purposeful function of an object. 10. Craft, art craft, industrial production, industrial design. 11. Packaging technology and advertising. 12. Technical and aesthetic-technical aspects of environment.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Work Activities, Grafic and Art Activities
  • Attendace - 14 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 5 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Use and function of materials, environment. Use of folk traditions and regional specificities in active creative work of students. Application in pre-school education. Basics of environmental planning.
The student will be eligible to use different kinds of materials for technical activities in the kindergarten.
Prerequisites
Assume the theoretical knowledge of engineering materials and their applications

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Seminar Work

Mastering theoretical knowledge and practical activities, technologies of processing of selected technical, natural, modelling, experimental and folk materials and methodological procedures, including final samples of practical design and application in the environment.
