Origin and evolution of continents and oceans, plate tectonics, stratigraphy basics (determining geological age of rocks, stratigraphic units). Geological history of Earth and the evolution of life in different geological periods. Basics paleobiogeografie and paleoecology. Major rock-forming organisms. List of the geological evolution of Europe and the Czech Republic. Possibilities of using knowledge about the geological evolution of nature in theoretical and practical education at the elementary school.
The students ought to gain an general overview on the evolution of the Earth in the geological past, as well as on the regional geology of the Czech Republic.
