Historical overview of the development and application of biotechnology. "Classical and modern" biotechnology. Technology principles - Bioreactors. Culture media and industrial raw materials. Kinetics of cell growth and product formation, single and continuous cultivation. Sterilization and aeration. Biotransformation of immobilized enzymes and cells. Biofilms. "Classic" Biotechnology - Biomass - yeast. Production of beer, wine, and spirits. Fermentation in the dairy industry - production of yogurt and cheese.
