Subject deals with the diversity in organisms and processes that shape their appearances and habits. In focus are interactions among model organisms and their habitats. Key processes are discussed on several levels of life-hierarchy - genes, individuals, populations, communities and ecosystems. Ecological approach is extended by means of evolutionary ideas. During labs, students work on selected case studies while using the basic scientific (ecological) methodology.
