Objectives: The content of the course is to gain awareness of foreign trends in preschool education. After completing the course, students should be able to: - describe the importance and characteristics of comparative pedagogy in its current concept - capture the continuity of primary and pre-primary education in selected European countries with a focus on the start of compulsory school attendance - compare the basic criteria of pre-primary education in the Czech Republic and selected European countries Topics: Current concept of comparative pedagogy Continuity of primary and pre-primary education in the Czech Republic Structure, content, goals, process characteristics of pre-primary education Teachers from the perspective of international comparison
The student will gain awareness of preschool education in an international context.

Requirements for awarding credit: the student will acquire basic knowledge of theory, methodology and the development of comparative pedagogy will be able to identify the specifics of pre-primary education in the context of Europe, namely in the areas of - institutionalization of preschool education - concept of pre-primary education - specific features of pre-primary - trends and problems in the field of pre-primary education The acquired knowledge will be demonstrated within the framework of a prepared and presented presentation of a selected European country and its comparison with the Czech Republic. Participation in seminars 75%. In the event that a student, for serious reasons (ERASMUS, illness), does not meet the specified participation in the seminar, he will be assigned a seminar paper within the scope of the topics, thereby demonstrating the necessary overview, and will then process the presentation in the same way as other students.
