Learning outcomes
Objectives: Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - Define the concepts of perception, school readiness, school readiness, teaching method, analytic-synthetic method, methodological practices, writing in the contemporary school, literacy - to clarify the relationship between auditory and visual perception, school readiness and school maturity in relation to elementary reading and writing; to clarify the relationship between contemporary writing materials in primary school teaching - explain the importance of perception, school readiness and school maturity for the pupil and for the teacher's work, - list and characterise the different types of perception, school readiness and school maturity - assess the school readiness and maturity of pupils in the elementary classroom in relation to children's graphomotor and pre-reading skills - assess the quality and difficulty of textbooks focusing on reading and writing (Living Alphabets, Syllabaries, Reading Books, Writing Books) - apply analytical and synthetic teaching methods (genetic and global) in teaching elementary reading and writing - analyse, evaluate textbooks and teaching texts according to the given criteria. Topics: history of writing and writing teaching methods of reading from a historical perspective teaching methods of reading from a historical perspective analytical-synthetic method in teaching elementary reading and writing genetic and global method in teaching elementary reading and writing qualitative and quantitative elements of single-step linear writing Comenia Script ? description and analysis the problem of laterality problems of literacy in the elementary classroom specific learning disabilities in the elementary classroom from the perspective of the teacher traditional and non-traditional enrolment in primary education school maturity legislation and the issue of school deferment
