Course content
|
Basic topics: 1. Quantitative and qualitative research in educational sciences and its phases. 2. Application of selected methods of data collection. 3. Preparation of empirical research project. 4. Realization of pilot study, pre-research and empirical research. 5. Statistical processing of the results of the questionnaire (sorting of the first and second level, interpretation of the results). 6. Methods of analysis in qualitative research. 7. Academic writing - creation of the final research report. 8. Preparation of a professional article from the realized research. 9. Research as a part of diploma thesis. 10. Ethics of research work.

Learning outcomes
|
Aims of the subject / students will be able to: Develop a process of quantitative and qualitative research, Prepare a pilot study and design pre-research, Carry out preresearch, including its evaluation, interpretation of results and conclusions for practice, Report on the research carried out, Choose the optimal approach in the empirical part of the thesis, Master the ethical rules of scientific research and the technical aspect of writing.

Prerequisites
|
The prerequisite for enrolment of the subject is basic knowledge of pedagogical research methodology, which will be developed within the subject into deeper professional context, especially in relation to writing the final research report or an article for a selected periodical.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Preparation of a seminar thesis - proposal of a pilot research study during which the student will demonstrate theoretical knowledge within the scope of the course syllabus.
