Course content
|
Education as part of socialization process in contemporary postmodern society. Environment and education, environment typology, roles of environment in education, an analysis of individual basic types of environment today (family, school, peer groups, local environment). Compromised development of children and youth personalities in current environment. The situations in life and education, their characteristics and analysis. Critical situations in life and their management, social support. Field work of social educationists, the characteristics and specifics of this work (community work, working with minorities and groups at risk). The specifics of methodology for social pedagogy. Brief introduction to selected methodological and legal aspects of organizing leisure-time activites. The aim is to provide a brief overview of the basic knowledge, up-to-date information and practical recommendations for orientation in these issues. Selection and contents of individual topics result from actual current needs, various professional sources and educational experience. In the beginning, there is room for basic legal terminology, the relations between law and free time, and recuperating events. The main focus is on the most frequented leisure-time activities, for which safety specifications and methodical notes are stated, more space is devoted to ski-training trips. The area of hygiene ? liabilities of a medical orderly, procedure in the event of injury and first aid.

|
The course will cover issues related to the position of social pedagogy, its objectives, and its major characteristics. Topics that are discussed include education as a part of socialization, the functions of education in the context of a family, peer group, and social group at school, and the development of children's personalities. The course is also devoted to developing practical skills necessary for efficient social intervention. The purpose of the course is to consider the issues of social education in relation to leisure activities and to introduce the methodological fundamentals. Attentions is also paid to health and safety aspects of free-time direction.
Students will be able to describe the evolution of social education and leisure education as a discipline. He will be able to characterize the object and methods of social education and leisure education.
