Topics " Definition of leisure, functions of leisure. " Leisure and indiviruality " Factors influencing the way leisure is experienced. " Sociocultural context of leisure " Sociological approaches to leisure - functionalism, neo-Marxism, postmodernism, globalising influences and others. " Specifics of leisure for children and youth. " Natural social environments and children and youth leisure. " Pedagogy of leisure as a pedagogical discipline. " The relationship between education and leisure in the context of leisure and social pedagogy. " Goals and specifics of educational action in leisure. " Rest, recreation and leisure activities. " Institutional environment of leisure education.

Learning outcomes
|
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: " define leisure and analyze the functions and importance of leisure in the life of today's man, " know and understand the basic sociological concepts of leisure (functionalist, neo-Marxist, interactionist, postmodern) " understand the importance of leisure for the development of individuality, understand the social context of leisure and the concept of leisure activity " understand the meaning of leisure in the context of leisure pedagogy and social pedagogy, " specify the factors that influence the way leisure is experienced, " analyse current issues and challenges related to leisure, especially for children and young people, " explain the influence of natural social environments on leisure, especially for children and young people, " explain the relationship between education and leisure and clarify the objectives and specificities of educational activities in leisure, " describe the main activities that fall within the field of education outside the classroom (leisure activities, recreational activities, recreational activities), " characterise the mission and activities of school leisure establishments and associations for children and young people.

|
Knowledge of concepts from general pedagogy.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
The course will end with a written test on the lectured material (including the study of basic literature).
