Course content
|
Topics for work in the seminar: The essence and meaning of the bachelor's thesis. The supervisor of the bachelor's thesis. The schedule for the preparation of the bachelor's thesis. The goal of the bachelor's thesis. Searching for professional literature and sources and working with them. Creating a professional text. Citing sources according to the valid citation standard. Applying knowledge from the methodology of empirical research when writing a bachelor's thesis. Ethical principles of scientific work. The structure and division of the bachelor's thesis. Formal editing of the bachelor's thesis in accordance with the standard for editing documents in word processors and with the valid internal regulations of Palacký University and the Faculty of Education of the University of Prague. Contact teaching is focused on key problems of the discipline and navigating students to work on the bachelor's thesis project.

Learning outcomes
|
The course guides the student towards the correct writing of a bachelor's thesis, the writing of which is one of the prerequisites for the successful completion of bachelor's studies in the Social Pedagogy field at the Faculty of Education of the Palacky University.
After completing the course, students should be able to: . understand the meaning and mission of a bachelor's thesis; . create a bachelor's thesis project, . correctly formulate the main goal and sub-goals of their bachelor's thesis, . search for relevant professional literature and sources needed to process their bachelor's thesis . complete the BP project and, after consulting with the thesis supervisor, enter it into the STAG system.

Seminar Work
Requirements for awarding credit: A) Semester work - Bachelor's thesis project and its defense. During the semester, the student will prepare a bachelor's thesis project, which he will present/defend at the end of the semester in a seminar. He/she will consult with the subject teacher and then also with the designated supervisor of the thesis, who will guarantee the writing of the thesis according to the chosen professional interest. For the structure and formal requirements of the project, see the Syllabus in Moodle. B) Selection of the thesis supervisor and assignment of the final topic of the thesis including the project to STAG. Submission deadline: see the Syllabus in Moodle (or in accordance with the instructions of the PdF UP management) C) Attendance at the seminar. 1 unexcused absence is tolerated.
