Course content
1. Social pathology - definition of the term. Norm and order in society, normality. Socially pathological phenomena and social control. Institute of social control and its function in society. Anomia as a risk to society. 2. Social deviance and conformity. Delimitation, degrees of deviation. Theory of social deviations, etiology of deviant behavior. Historical approaches to deviance, cultural relativism. Definition of the concept of risky behavior, behavior disorder, pathological addiction as forms of deviant behavior. 3. Prevention. Definition, terminology, levels of prevention and its system in Czech society. 4. Primary prevention. Principles of primary prevention. Creation of the school's preventive-educational strategy - minimum preventive program, school educational program. School method of prevention and its functions. 5. Professional intervention (secondary, tertiary prevention). System of professional assistance and professional facilities (state, non-profit sector). Professional support at school - educational advisor, school counseling office (school psychologist, school special pedagogue, social pedagogue, etc.). 6. Educator and his competence in the field of social pathologies and prevention of risky behavior. 7. Documents for the implementation of prevention. Methodical instruction of the Ministry of Education for the prevention of socially pathological phenomena in children and youth, Strategy for the prevention of risky behaviors in children and youth, etc. 8. Institute of substitute family care, forms of non-institutional care. Constitutional and protective education. System of institutional education, placement of children and adolescents in institutional education. The role of the diagnostic institute and other preventive and educational facilities. Reeducation, resocialization. 9. Criminal proceedings in juvenile matters. Educational, protective, criminal measures. Act No. 218/2003 on Juvenile Justice. Mediation and probation - definition, mission. Alternative punishment. Activity of the probation and mediation service. Collaborating institutions. 10. Enforcement of custody and imprisonment. Types of prisons, special wards. Juvenile prison. Treatment program. Penology, penitentiary pedagogy, post-penitentiary care.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to develop the necessary knowledge and competences of the student - future pedagogue (teacher) in relation to risky forms of behavior, their diagnosis, solutions and, above all, prevention in terms of planning and implementation of preventive activities and programs. After completing the course, students should be able to: <LI> orient oneself in the issue of social pathologies and threatening risky behavior for adolescent socialization; <LI> understand and shed light on the formation of society's norms, the functioning of the system of social control; <LI> define and delineate specific forms of risky behavior, their etiology and prevention options; <LI> orient oneself in the system of pedagogical and psychological counseling in relation to possible professional help for the child and his family; <LI> know the conditions and principles of implementing primary prevention with an emphasis on the school environment; <LI> to conceive and methodically prepare a program of primary prevention of selected forms of risky behavior.
The student will understand the issue of the subject, will understand the importance of primary prevention of risky behavior in the school environment and will strengthen his/her competence towards the preparation and implementation of preventive activities in the role of a teacher.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for enrolling in the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

At the end of the semester, the student will take a colloquium in the form of a final test. It will be in the scope of 10 topics defined by the course syllabus. A significant part of the test will be questions following the topics presented, as well as e-learning chapters in Moodle.
