After completing the course students should be able to understand, analyze selected theories of education and on their basis conceive their own theory of education - the fulfillment of the main objective is conditioned by the fulfillment of the sub-objectives, which are: " to define the basic theories of education and education (theories of education), " to explain the developmental tendencies of theories of education and their changes in contemporary contexts, " to characterize the sciences of education as sciences of educational reality. " to analyze and reconstruct basic educational concepts in the context of the theory of the teaching profession (pedeutology), " to evaluate (critically) and establish the intersection between educational theory and practice in relation to society, " to analyze pedagogical categories with respect to their historical-pedagogical grounding in the modern pedagogical debate, " to clarify the thought structure of various contemporary patterns of thinking about education - anthropological ideas about man, philosophical, sociological and theological definitions of the goals of education, views on the role of the teacher, " to clarify the historical roots of contemporary trends in education.
