Course content
Media and Their Impact on the Leisure Time in the Society. The Epoch of Mass Communication (Film, Radio, Television, PC and Internet, Print). Advertising - Depleted and Distorted Picture of the World. The Negative Influence of Media - Violence, Pornography, Advertisement and Kitsch. The Media and the Audience. Is the Radio in Decline? The Temptation of the Screen. How to Take Control over the Screen. Personal Computer /PC/? A Helper or Damnation? Print - Quantity versus Quality. The Whole Family Watch TV. Leisure Time Pedagogue Impact on Effective Use of Media. The Media in Education.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Projection (static, dynamic)

Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, students should be able to characterize the main aspects of media issues, identify the negative impact of media on meaningful leisure time of children, adolescents, adults, and make concrete proposals on how to make the media a useful mentor and companion.
Students will acquire competence to effectively understand the media content and communication.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of sociology and leisure education.

Didactic Test, Seminar Work

Fulfilment of individual theoretical and practical tasks, independent creative activity.
