Course content

Designing empirical pedagogical research. Application of statistical tests of significance and other statistical methods in pedagogical researches. Research report elaboration.

Learning outcomes
|
After completing the course, students should be able to: prepare a pilot study, draft partial study, develop a research project, carry out empirical research on teaching, including its evaluation, draw conclusions for practice and preparation of a report on research.
Students will be able to characterize scientific research and its specifics in the social sciences and pedagogy. Will know the basic methods and techniques of data collection, sample design and basic characteristics of descriptive statistics. Students will be able to describe methods of testing of research hypotheses, statistical tests of significance and describe the data on which it can use. He can describe the normal distribution of the data and its properties. He will be able to verify the research hypotheses. He knows how to use correlation analysis in education research. He can apply appropriate graphical representation of data. It is able to write a final research report.

Basic knowledge of methodology, mathematics and statistics.

|
Didactic Test, Seminar Work
Elaboration of empirical pedagogical research project, statistical elaboration of its fictitious results and forming a research report.
