The basic concepts of science methodology, empirical research and statistics. Selecting Elements in research samples. Measurement, its types and properties. Processing of measurement results (frequency tables, characteristics of position, degree of variability, graphical method of displaying data). Selected statistical tests of significance. Correlation analysis (Spearman correlation coefficient and Pearson correlation coefficient).
Students will be able to characterize scientific research and its specifics in the social sciences and pedagogy. Will know the basic methods and techniques of data collection, sample design and basic characteristics of descriptive statistics.
