Course content
|
The course introduces students to the issues of children from dysfunctional families, competencies of social workers as part of social and legal protection of children, their cooperation with a family, paediatrician, school and other experts, it deals with specific cases (neglect, maltreatment and sexual abuse), where healthy development of children is seriously endangered. Furthermore, it provides an overview of all types of institution care facilities, refers to forms of substitute family care ? adoption, foster care, guardianship and custody by another physical entity, and to procedures of competent authorities as part of the integration (cooperation between state and non-state organizations).

Learning outcomes
|
Introduction to the field for students of programmes focused on social work.
Students are familiar with the types of integration of children into society, in the relevant legislation, control foster care system and processes of social and legal protection of children.

Basic knowledge of family sociology , developmental psychology, and social policy.

|
Oral exam
To prepare a seminar paper on a given topic and colloquium.
