Course content
Communication. Social communication. Pedagogical communication. Specifics and principles of pedagogical communication, communication skills, interactive teaching style. Nonverbal pedagogical communication. Verbal pedagogical communication. Monologue and dialogue in teaching. Questions and answers in pedagogical communication. Paralinguistic means of communication. Obstacles in pedagogical communication. Stage fright. Social aspects in pedagogical interaction. Conflict and its solution. Crisis in pedagogical communication. Communication in multicultural society. Gender-neutral language in pedagogical communication. Media as means of pedagogical communication (texts, audio and video, multimedia, ICT). Interaction practice.

Learning outcomes
Students should be able to explain terms communication, social communication; distinguish types of communication, characterize pedagogical communication, clarify particularities and principles of pedagogical communication, analyse communication skills of a teacher, describe specific manifestations of verbal and nonverbal communication in lessons, specify an effective dialogue and discussion, analyse paralinguistic ways of communication, name and analyse obstacles and crisis in pedagogical communication and suggest their solution or minimization, characterise specifics of using media for social and pedagogical communication, apply theoretical knowledge for solving model situations.
Development and cultivation of communicative skills with regard to the issue of teacher communication.
Prerequisites
Basic skills for university study in the field of helping professions. Interest in the field, a willingness to work independently and in a team.
