Basic terminology - social deviations, social pathology, social norms, labelling approach, Pygmalion effect, stigmatization. Mechanisms of social control, socialisation processes disturbances. Social deviations theories.

Learning outcomes
|
Problems of social deviations in general and with consequences of negative social deviations for individuals and society. In seminars will be analysed and discussed theoretical questions of sociology of social deviations. Explication of basic notions. Social-pathological problems in writings of Czech sociologists.

Work (an essay on a selected social deviant phenomenon - the application of theoretical issues of sociology of social deviation and analysis of selected passages from the recommended literature and a case study of one of the areas of problematic behaviour) of at least 4 standard pages and 3 different sources of information.
