Course content
The subject sociological thinking deals with the following topics: Reasons for formation sociology, Sociological thinking before establishment of sociology, Sociological thinking in the 19th century: Comte, Spencer, Marx, Durkheim, Weber, Pareto, Sociology in Czech countries, Sociology in the 20th century: consensualistic, conflictologistic and interpretative paradigm, and Sociology with prefix post and sociology of late modernism.

Learning outcomes
Reasons for the creation of sociology. Establishing the scientific discipline. An overview of nineteenth-century sociological theories. Paradigms of sociological thought in the twentieth century.
Orientation in the directions of sociological thinking 19th and 20th centuries. Getting to know the influence of sociological theories on the perception of social reality. Identification of the influence of sociological theories on research methodology in social sciences.
