Course content
1. Basic terminology in the social sphere. 2. Personality of a social worker. 3. Introduction to sociology. Socialization. 4. Introduction to social policy and social security system. 5. Introduction to social care and assistance and social work. 6. Introduction to social counselling and social deviations. 7. Introduction to social gerontology. 8. Communication in social work.

Learning outcomes
The course Introduction to Social Sciences introduces students to the basic terminology in the social sphere, introduces to the personality of social workers, provides basic preliminary information about selected social disciplines.
Basic orientation in the social field, understanding of basic concepts and ability to apply them in further studies.
Prerequisites
Study and personal skills to work in the helping professions.

Written exam

PC work, Internet connection, seminar thesis elaboration.
