Course content
|
Gerontology and its structure, basic problems of geronto-sociology, social aspects of ageing and the old age, effects of ageing on population, myths about the old age, sociological aspects of post-productive age, getting ready for the old age, activities and social contacts of senior citizens, social aspects of illness and dying.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject gives information from the area of social gerontology - teaching about ageing and old age from the view of social context, also from the area of thanatology - teaching about dying and death. We will mention problems like loneliness and the influence of social environment on the approach to ageing, dying and death. The aim is to understand the complications of the last period of life.

Presentation of the paper, resp. PP presentation (any topic related to the subject - book content, professional experience, elaboration of a case study of a person in the senior age - relationships, activity, autonomy, social risks, etc.). Focus on social aspects!
