The principles and functions of social policy. Social sovereignty. 4. Social state ? its concepts, roles and types. 5. Social state crisis. 6. Development of Czech social policy. 7. Soc. policy in selected European countries. 8. Subjects and objects of social policy. 9. Soc. policy tools. 10. Human rights in terms of soc. policy. 11. Social events. Conditions for accepting a claim for social assistance. 12. Social protection. Social insurance. 13. Poverty as a social event.. 14. Types and concepts of poverty, possible solutions. 15. Social exclusion as a social event. Social security in old age. Old age as a social event. 16. State social support. Definition, types of benefits. Conditions for payment of state social security benefits.

Learning outcomes
|
The course entitled Social policy introduces the mission, targets and the target population of social policy; it deals with types of social policy and their particular functions. It also deals with the history of social policy in the Czech context. It describes significant events with respect to social policy, its objects and subjects, principles and instruments.
