Course content
Basic concepts, definitions. The development of social work with seniors in our country and in selected EU countries. Personality social worker, a specific approach to seniors. The system of social services for seniors in the country. Specifics of caregiving in the family. Specifics field of social services. Specifics of care in residential facilities. Trends in the provision of social services for seniors, transformation of residential facilities for other forms of social services. Quality standards in the care of older persons. Continuity of health and social care for the elderly.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Observation, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
After completing the course students will be able to:-describe new trends in perceptions of age, demographic developments in Europe and the CR-characterize the evolution of social work with seniors in our country and in selected EU countries, to define the role of social worker in caring for the elderly, describe and explain the basic forms and types of social services (outreach, outpatient and residential)-describe the possibility of caring for seniors in a combination of family and social services, to clarify the transformation of residential services to other forms of services with an emphasis on care service
The student controls the development of social work with the elderly in our country and in selected EU countries , basic forms and types of social services ( outreach , outpatient and residential ) for seniors , the possibility of providing care for the elderly in a combination of family and social services.
Prerequisites
General knowledge of social policy and gerontology.
