Course content
Czech education policy in the European and global contexts. Czech education and the Czech education system. Basic strategies, applied within the European Union. Main conceptual materials of education policy in the CR. Tools and key principles of Czech education policy. Levels and participants of the education policy.

Learning outcomes
The subject Current Issues in Educational Policy will provide graduates with a fundamental perspective into Czech educational policies in European contexts. Once they pass this subject, students will be able to characterize current events not only in the terms of Czech education and the Czech educational system, but also in terms of the basic strategies applied within the European Union. Graduates will be able to work with basic Czech conceptual materials. They will be able to describe tools of educational policy as well as their key principles. They will also know how to defend their opinions on particular issues pertaining not only to Czech educational policy, but also to the global contexts of these policies.
