Lexicological basic themes - the word like character motivation, the notion of lexeme, buzzwords and neologisms, archaisms, internationalisms, calques, hybrids,exoticism, etc. syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations, ...

Learning outcomes
Emphasis is placed on the vocabulary of German, its evolution and development. Topics include issues of words, and syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations
Ability to explain the basic lexicology concepts: - The word as a sign - Motivation - Lexeme - Neologism - Archaism - Loan words
Prerequisites
The student is able to discuss and respond in German language in the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of linguistic

80% attendence in the courses, making good a test.
