Development in didactic applications within the framework of mathematics classes, and the adaptation of the knowledge gained in teaching competency subjects to the conditions of mathematics lessons.

Learning outcomes
|
The purpose of the subject is to enable students to acquire basic competencies needed for teaching mathematics at lower secondary school. The aim is to be achieved by the application of the knowledge gained in the theory-based subjects, their transformation into professional skills, their further development in didactic applications within the framework of mathematics classes, and the adaptation of the knowledge gained in teaching competency subjects to the conditions of mathematics lessons.
In this course of study, the students gain competence to easily deal with the learning environment of the secondary school mathematics lessons, to manage pupils' work, to evaluate the training results, and to creatively modify the teaching methods that they apply in mathematics lessons, in compliance with the age, mental, and social needs of their pupils.

Prerequisites
|
The successful completion of the course is conditioned by the mastery of basic mathematical skills acquired in the courses of study and by the ability of the student to apply the aforementioned skills within the context of didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
Active participation in seminars, preparation of a seminar work on the topic related to school mathematics, its presentation in the seminar (in PowerPoint).
