Course content |
The course content is divided into the following three areas: - Word processor (MS Word) ? creation of text documents with specific emphasis on documents with mathematics content (Equation Editor, Math Type). - Spreadsheet (MS Excel) - basic knowledge of the program, the structure of the program, (sheets, notebooks), the basics of working with the program (data entry syntax, cell format, cell addressing, basic calculations in mathematics, inserting functions, and creation of graphs). - Multimedia Presentations (MS PowerPoint) ? creation of educational presentations within the mathematics subject curriculum at lower primary schools, the incorporation of multimedia elements into presentations (initial, interim and final animations, animation and slide transitions, movements of objects, addition of sound, and automatic timing). - A programming language for children (Imagine Logo) ? teaching the basics of object-oriented programming language (OOP), familiarization with basic commands, calculations, and drawings.

Learning outcomes |
The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with current possibilities of using ICT in the teaching of mathematics at primary schools. Great attention will be paid to possible applications of computers as a support for teachers, the education process, and the pupil`s individual work. Students should acquire the skills needed in order to effectively incorporate the computer technology into the teacher preparation, to involve the computer technology in the teaching of mathematics, and to employ computers for the purposes of the primary school pupils` individual work and homework.
