Course content
|
Contemporary trends in theory and practice of teaching math both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Selected theories of math education and their representatives (Krygowská, Freudenthal, Polya...). Reflection of the theories in contemporary math education at secondary school.

Learning outcomes
|
The course shall provide the students with a possibility to compare the content of and the approaches to teaching mathematics. The current trends in theory and practice of teaching mathematics in the Czech Republic and abroad will be introduced. The aim is to create a positive relationship of the student teacher with the creative work with children, and with the independent knowledge acquisition, within the framework of the lifelong learning.
The course shall provide the students with a possibility to compare the content of and the approaches to teaching mathematics.

Prerequisites
|
The successful completion of the course is conditioned by the mastery of basic mathematical skills acquired in the courses of study and by the ability of the student to apply the aforementioned skills within the context of didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio, Seminar Work
Active participation in the seminars and indivual consultations, a seminar paper including its presentation during the final session.
