The aim of the subject is to develop deep knowledge and work habits in students in the field of scientific work, research and development, and presentation of research results.

1. The PhD. student conducts an analysis and provides a written characterisation of six types of the most commonly occurring forms of specialised works (1. dissertation, 2. monograph, 3. chapter in a book, 4. specialised study, 5. conference presentation, and 6. poster). This characterisation will concern: - the subject of the work, - its location within the structure of musicology disciplines and its overlap with non-musicological disciplines, - theoretical foundations, - main aim, possibly including specific objectives, - any hypotheses, - applied methods and techniques, - statistical processing of research data, - applied citation standards (e.g., ČSN ISO 690, APA, Harvard, Chicago, etc.). 2. The student will prepare a written characterisation of their proposed dissertation according to the above-mentioned methodological aspects. 3. The student will attach a list of five studied titles related to the methodology of scientific work.
