Learning outcomes
|
The student will become acquainted with selected historical and theoretical issues from the earlier and also the more modern history of music (selected chapters especially from the Ars Antiqua to the Renaissance and from the Baroque to Romanticism). The subject matter concentrates not only on issues in European music, but also on questions concerning Czech music and its relation to the European context of the period in question. The student will be well informed about the principal historical periods and their features. He/she will also demonstrate knowledge of the biographies and important works of selected composers.

Student performance
Compulsory participation in tutorials (or seminars). Theoretical knowledge pertaining to the given issues, and if need be also the related practical skills.
