Learning outcomes
|
The student is introduced to selected issues in aesthetics relevant to Music Theory and Pedagogy. He/she will learn how to analyse the relationship between aesthetics and the so-called special sciences, and will become familiar with some contemporary philosophical-aesthetic concepts (phenomenology, structuralism, pragmatism and post-modernism). Special attention will be paid to the problems of semiotics and semiology and to the issue of theoretical definition of art in its different forms.

Student performance
Compulsory participation in tutorials (or seminars). Theoretical knowledge pertaining to the given issues, and if need be also the related practical skills.
