Course content
Kindergarten grounds (built-up area, division and characteristics of non-built-up areas, school playground); kindergarten building (changing rooms, washrooms and WCs, study rooms, playrooms, food preparation, camp bed and mattress store, toy store, hygienic equipment for staff, room for storing cleaning agents, terrace); kindergarten (class)room (lightning, thermal conditions, problematics of noise); body care and personal hygiene; hygiene education; ergonomics in kindergarten; use of anthropometry (anthropology) in respect of the material conditions and daily regimen in preprimary education; biorhythms and their acceptance in preprimary education; school feeding (including consumer basket); child nutrition from the point of view of qualitative and quantitative aspects, including water intake; nutritive behavior of children and its development; nutrition and health (obesity, eating disorders etc.); health and lifestyle - health determinants, protective and risk factors of lifestyle; health as a value; "Škola podporující zdraví" project.

Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to: - Sum up the basic material conditions for suitable functions of an institutional (formal) preprimary education, - Specify the right material conditions from the point of view of a preprimary institution's localization - Debate about the particular aspects of the material conditions - sections of school grounds, division of school building, realization of inner arrangement of a kindergarten, - Demonstrate the elementary knowledge of well-being in an optimal school environment (suitable spatial, microclimatic, luminary, and acoustic conditions), - Characterize the stages of the preprimary age from the point of view of somatic growth and child's development in relation to ergonomic and health aspects (school furniture, sanitary facilities, spatial arrangement adjusted to preprimary age children which develops autonomy and other competencies), - Specify the material conditions of a preprimary institution regarding the hygienic requirements, safety and health protection of all the participants (children, teachers, etc.) - Sum up the basic principles of a daily regimen in a preprimary institution with respect to the health promotion, health education and development of adequate lifestyle habits of children, - Specify the main principles and requirements on the school feeding, - Explain the child's nutrition specifics in respect of qualitative and quantitative aspects (including adequate water intake), - Justify the principles of a formation of food preferences and aversions of children, sum up the specifics of building the nutritional behavior of children and explain the relation between nutrition and health (actual and in future), - Specify the principles of the project "Škola podporující zdraví", - Accept an adequate approach to the health promotion and health education in the formal preprimary education.
Students can define the basic material conditions for suitable functions of a preprimary education. Students are familiar with the particular aspects of the material conditions of a curriculum - sections of school grounds, division of school building, realization of the internal arrangement of a kindergarten. Students can characterize the stages of the preprimary age from the point of view of somatic growth and a child's development in relation to ergonomic and health aspects. Students can specify the material conditions of a preprimary institution regarding the hygienic requirements, safety and health protection of all the participants (children, teachers, etc.) Students can describe the main principles and requirements in the child's nutrition specifics regarding qualitative and quantitative aspects. Students can analyze the principle of the "Škola podporující zdravíl" project.
Prerequisites
For students of the follow-up master's degree program in Preschool Pedagogy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test, Seminar Work

Recommended min. 50% participation in seminars. Requirements for credit: 1) Choose a specific topic from the offered topics, which will be processed in the form of a project day proposal and its course, including hygiene requirements - for children and their parents (e.g. at a class meeting or participation and involvement in your own project day). The topic will be accompanied by an analysis of currently offered preventive measures (Ministry of Health, individual health insurance companies, state and non-profit organizations), health promotion programs and projects (supranational org. = WHO and national institutions = SZÚ, CZSO, ÚZIS, NZIP). Draw from professional literature, professional articles (possible also in English) - with a written analysis by the student (min. scope 1-2 pages A4); 2) Selection of a suitable video related to the selected topic of the semester work with regard to the specifics of the ontogenetic period of preschool children with a written analysis by the student (scope 1 page A4). 3) All sources used will be cited both in the text itself and in the final "List of sources" in accordance with ČSN ISO 690:2022. 4) Insertion of the semester work into STAG, in the "Semester work" section under the abbreviation of the subject KAZ/PNVP@ by the deadlines set at the beginning of the semester. Requirements for the credit test: After approval of the inserted seminar work file (in the UP Portal - accepted), it is possible to register for a written test in the STAG study agenda system (again via the UP Portal). Requirements for students with an individual study plan: full-time education in the amount of at least 20%, alternatively joint education with combined study - see the subject KAZ/ KNVP @, i.e. 4 hours of direct teaching according to the schedule; see above (identical requirements for credit and for the exam). Requirements for students during the ERASMUS+ study stay: 1) As a substitute for participation in direct teaching: preparation of a semester paper on a given topic related to its specifics in the visited country and university and its entry into STAG, in the "Semester Paper" section under the subject abbreviation KAZ/PNVP@ on the dates set at the beginning of the semester. The scope of the paper and its structure will be specified at the beginning of the semester via e-mail communication using the student's generated e-mail address in the UP Portal. 2) Completion of the subject will take place after the student returns from the study stay to the Czech Republic in the same form as for full-time students on a specific date agreed in advance with the student and entered into STAG.
