Course content
Health ? definition, basic concepts, models and perceptions of health. Determinants of health. Protective and risk factors of lifestyle, etiopathogenesis. Health promotion programs, WHO Health 2020 program, National Program for Recovery and Health Promotion in the Czech Republic. Health education in the curricular system of the Czech Republic. Healthy School program, Disease prevention ? primary, secondary, tertiary, general, indicated, selective. Health protection and responsibility for health, health promotion in EU and worldwide. Healthcare system, public healthcare. Disease ? basic concepts, stages of behavior in disease, course and consequences of disease. Health literacy ? definition, history of concept development up till present. Implementation of health literacy in the educational process.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
After passing the course Health Promotion and Health Literacy Development, students should be able to: ? define health, its determinants and models, ? explain and apply the health promotion programs into practice, ? explain the principle, classification and prevention of disease, ? understand and interpret the principle of the philosophy of a healthy lifestyle and health education, ? define health literacy as a whole, ? argue in favor of irreplaceability of individual aspects of health literacy, ? find interdisciplinary relationships in the topics of health education and other educational areas, ? formulate responsibility for health, ? define the healthcare sysgtem, ? Interpret the implementation of health promotion into the curricular documents (namely RVP ZV 2016), ? demonstrate basic understanding of health support projects and programs, ? analyze health promotion in the EU and around the world.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work, Written exam

Full-time study: Each student will prepare a seminar paper on the assigned field-specific topic, which must be submitted at least one week before receiving credit. The review and evaluation of individual work by the instructor are necessary prerequisites for obtaining credit. Credit will be granted based on the completion of the tasks mentioned above and the preparation of a didactic test.
