| Course content |
|
Family as a system, its structure. Position of woman, man, and child in family (in past times and today). Types and functions of family. Importance of family environment for child personality development, inner and outer conditions of family education. Members of a family as educators. New phenomena with respect to today's family life changes. Family relations and relations between partners, marriage and alternative partnerships, types of family environment. Family and parenthood dysfunction, parental responsibility, legal obligation of alimony. Respecting child's rights. Violence in family, CAN, delinquency and aggression. Child in difficult life situations. Social work with family. Family rehabilitation. Crisis intervention.

After passing the course, students should be able to: - Define family and describe its changes, - Describe the family upbringing strategy and clarify the process of socialization in the family, - Distinguish the typology of families, family environment, and types of various partnerships, - Specify the parenthood and family dysfunctions, - Know the problematics of child's rights, define the CAN syndrome, analyze other difficult life situations family can find itself in, - Describe the problem of domestic violence and suggest possibilities, how to solve it, considering the social services system and crisis intervention.
After passing the course, a student is able to: Understand the diverse factors concerning the life quality and living conditions in society influencing an individual's life. |
