Course content |
Menstrual cycle disorders, woman's intimate and menstrual hygiene, man's intimate hygiene, unintended pregnancy prevention - methods and forms of contraception, contraception suitable for adolescents, risky sexual behavior - STI (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, HPV, hepatitis B, C, HIV/AIDS, etc.), solutions of unintended pregnancy, problematics of abortions, sexual activity, choice of a partner.

Learning outcomes |
After passing the course, students should be able to: - Characterize the morphological and functional development, distinguishing male and female, - Explain the menstrual and ovulation cycle, - Define the disorders of menstrual and ovulation cycle, - Describe man's and woman's intimate hygiene, - Argue in favor of unintended pregnancy prevention, - Categorize the contraception methods and forms, - State the pros of planned parenthood, - Explain the problematics of unintended pregnancy - abortion and mini abortion, - Describe the questions of prevention, etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical profile of STI (Sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS), - Adopt an adequate stance on questions of sexual and reproductive health, especially on prevention, - Suggest options of professional help, or more precisely, describe the methodics of solving the client's (pupil's) intimate problems.
Students gain knowledge in factors influencing reproductive health (especially for adolescents). Formation of adequate stances towards reproductive health and sexuality. |

Passing the courses of Somatology 1 and 2.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Mark, Written exam, Seminar Work
Active participation in seminars (80% attendance), working on a given project and its presentation during lessons. The project is supposed to be submitted in the form of PowerPoint presentation and MS Word as a final paper. Student's knowledge will be checked through a written test. |
